Chine - Shanghai

Arrival to Shanghai! Due to the traumatic experience in India's capital with the people, I try to "prepare" to chinese people. First impression of the city: WONDERFUL! (not difficult if the last reference is Delhi). I manage to call to hotels, get information at the airport, take the train and then the metro, as in any civilized country and the most amazing: no one behind me to tell me where to go or what to do... just perfect. The people are friendly and even without speaking Chinese I manage to communicate. I'm surprised about the cleanliness and modernity of this place. The train from the airport to the city is suspended by magnetic fields and goes fast... very fast (peak speed 450 Km/h). The metro is just like in Europe and the streets remind me Japan. No doubt, this place is getting ready to become a world power (or is it considered as one already?).
Only one bad thing: the prices. After calling almost to 10 hotels, I just manage to find a room with a reasonable price, 278 Yuan (around 27 euros). For that amount, I could've sleep 9 nights in India... but I haven't seen white blankets like those in ages! TV cable, phone, soap, WHITE (and not a cheap imitation of this color) towels... all very nice, but 3 months living like that will ruin my budget. On my first night walk, I try to find other place to stay. I find a 150 Yuan (15 euros) hotel. It's still expensive but it's getting better. I book a room for tomorrow.
